To Mildura

Well it is a beautiful morning in Mildura by the Murray and we have spent 2 nights here as requested by the boys. Their favorite place in the world, besides home. We arrived in Woodend to a warm fire, good food, company and some excellent advice. The next morning was a taster of mornings to come with ice on the cars and around the house. Very cold. We had an uneventful drive on Monday up to Mildura, made much more enjoyable with the playing of "How to Train your Dragon" on CD (nothing like the movie). The highlight of lunch at Wchyeproof was a fantastic sculpture yard, much potential for Art Red Hill next year with massive iron and steel structures. Arrived about 5:30 at Kings Billabong Reserve and found a lovely spot on the banks of the Murray, no people and heaps of firewood. Tuesday was spent walking, biking, knitting (first square of Project Blanket complete!) and generally stuffing around the campsite. Not such a beautiful day, but the rain held off. Cold at night but the sleeping bags are prooving a huge success. Off to Broken Hill after some shopping in Mildura, for stuff and things forgotten. Heading to the North Flinders Ranges next. Ciao.

We've Left!

After a frantic week, with life and the weather conspiring against us, at 4pm on Sunday 27th June we have left a very wet Main Ridge. Only one day behind schedule, the only date in our schedule.

This is our first blog post and I am sure it must be in true blogging style that this is being written from the computer as we get onto East Link, heading to Woodend (via RMIT). Thanks to everyone who has made it possible for us to leave this week in organising events, looking after kids, lending a hand and equipment! Bad luck if we've left anything behind as nothing else is going to fit in this car or trailer....

Hoping to make it Mildura tomorrow and then the first decision comes up, North or West... will keep you posted
